Arthur and the Minimoys: which stars lent their voices to this cult film?

Released in cinemas in 2006, the cult movie Arthur and the Invisiblesworn by Freddie Highmore and Mia Farrowwill be rebroadcast Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. on TFX. Realized by Luc Besson, this feature film is in fact the film adaptation of the first two parts of the series of eponymous books created by Luc Besson and Céline Garcia. The action of this film takes place in the 1960s. Performed on screen by Freddie Highmore10-year-old Arthur Montgomery’s character lives with his grandmother Daisy, embodied by mia farrow, in remote Connecticut countryside. He is passionate about the African adventures of his grandfather Archibald, who has been missing for 3 years.

But one day, a private individual from the Davido company comes to buy the grandmother’s house, because the latter has not paid her rent. The latter unfortunately not having the means to pay the debt, Arthur decides to find the hidden treasure the story of which she told him. Arthur then unlocks the secret left by his grandfather to enter the world of the Minimoys, funny creatures two millimeters high that inhabit his garden. Arthur will meet Princess Selenia, with whom he will fall in love, and her brother Bétamèche. Arthur will have to confront Maltazard the cursed to find the treasure, and at the same time, his grandfather.

Arthur and the Minimoys: great singing stars give voice

Besides Freddie Highmore and Mia Farrow, Luc Besson was able to count on an exceptional voice cast to bring to life the miniature characters he imagined on screen. In the original version of the film in English, Madonna interprets the princess Selenia, Jimmy Fallon embodies Betameche, while Robert De Niro is the king of the Minimoys. Emilio Estevez, Snopp Dogg, or even David Bowie also lend their voices to this feature film. In the French version, Mylène Farmer plays Princess Seleniaand the comedian Cartman who embodies Betameche. Dick Rivers, Rohff, Stomy Bugsy, Marc Lavoine and Alain Bashung complete the voice cast.
