Particularly affected by the war in Ukraine, Arthur had decided to fly to Poland to help the refugees. Wednesday March 16, 2022, he spoke on his social networks to tell about the hell he saw.
Arthur needed to act and feel useful for Ukrainian refugees. He therefore made the decision to get to the border between Poland and Ukraine in Lublin. For a few days, the host witnessed the plight of Ukrainians who left everything behind and fled their country to survive. While Russia has declared war on Ukraine, every day a little more of them are leaving with only a few belongings. Faced with this terrible situation, the famous animator decided to fly to Poland alongside the association Rescuers without borders. On many occasions, while he was there, he recounted the ordeal he saw from his Instagram account.
“It’s minus ten degrees. There have never been so many people who have crossed this border because we are 25-30 kilometers from the bombardments.. They brave the cold and the conditions at night because it seems that the night is safer. All the women and children I have met since the beginning have walked for an average of 7 or 8 hours. It’s completely insane. This is the first time I’ve witnessed this, these are scenes… I can not find the words. It’s moving, it’s heartbreaking to see all those dignified and desperate faces“, he had confided while he was there.
Arthur wants to help refugees
Back in France, Wednesday March 16, 2022, Arthur wanted to thank all the people who continue to donate to the association to help all these refugees. “I filmed this action because we needed your help. Thanks to these images we were able to collect donations“, he said while 250,000 euros have already been raised. This money will mainly be used to buy medicines for refugees arriving at the border and for hospitals around kyiv.
