In many vehicles, voice recognition and the implementation of commands work mediocrely at best. DS now wants to use AI to improve the interaction between humans and machines.
The elegant Stellantis subsidiary integrates the chatbot ChatGPT into its voice recognition system Iris. With the help of this artificial intelligence software, drivers should be able to enter into a dialogue with the digital assistant and retrieve information about travel destinations and sights. ChatGPT should also be able to invent a story for children traveling with them and entertain them with it. Since the software used is based on version 3.5 and therefore on the information status of September 2021, real-time information such as sports results or store opening times is not available. The Iris system, enhanced with AI, is available for the DS 3, 4, 7 and 9 models . Initially, a six-month, free test phase is planned for 20,000 users, for which DS drivers can register online at the DS Store until the end of February 2024. DS claims to be the first manufacturer to use ChatGPT for speech recognition in Europe.
