Artificial intelligence – Google follows suit with chatbot “Bard” – News

  • The tech group Google presents the new chatbot called “Bard”.
  • Bard is a conversational service that uses information from the web.
  • For the time being it will be tried out on test persons, later it should be accessible to the public.
  • In the past few weeks, the text robot ChatGPT from the start-up OpenAI had given speeches.

The US company Google is currently testing a chatbot called “Bard”, as the CEO Sundar Pichai announced in a blog entry. The chatbot should be able to answer questions from users and converse with them. Google wants to make the chatbot available to the general public in the coming weeks.

The chatbot is part of a three-part initiative by Google. According to Sundar Pichai, there should be new functions with artificial intelligence AI in Google search as well as programming interfaces that can be used to develop AI applications.

The announcement is a reaction to the “Chat GPT” software, which has attracted attention in recent weeks.

ChatGPT is a text robot created by start-up OpenAi, in which tech giant Microsoft has already invested billions. ChatGPT delivers texts in a few seconds that at first glance can hardly be distinguished from texts from real people.

The Chinese company Baidu with the search engine of the same name is also working on a similar service. The artificial intelligence will be called Ernie Bot and will be completed in March of this year.
