ArtPlay (Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night) hopes to make a big announcement in 2023

It’s the end of the year and with it, the traditional wishes of Japanese developers. Various magazines take advantage of this period to go around the Japanese studios and ask about their ambitions for the following year. Famitsu thus collected the wishes of more than 141 creators this year, relayed by Gematsu, where one can discover the statements of the ArtPlay team.

New content for Bloodstained

Studio founded by Koji Igarashi, renowned for the series Castlevania, ArtPlay is known to have taken us out Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon in 2018 then the very nice Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night in 2019. A title still supported today, with the arrival of regular updates and other new content. A crossover with the dreamlike Journey had been proposed this summer after adding a character from Child of Light in March.

Two creators of ArtPlay have shared their wishes. For Koji Igarashithe important thing is to finish the content on their game: I would like to complete work on the remaining content of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. And that will take us to the next step.” A relatively classic ambition, which still allows us to ensure new things to do in the metroidvania next year. Shutaro Iida, the game director, however, has hopes of revealing something big in 2023: “We’re still working on content for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but we’re striving every day to be able to make a big announcement in 2023.”

This is not enough to say that 2023 will be the year of a new game announcement, but these statements will probably be enough to titillate fans of Bloodstained who can now expect a teaser next year. It remains to be seen whether this will be a completely new project, or the sequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Nightwhich has already been confirmed and was still in the very early stages of development in 2021. As they saywait & see.
