Artus relieved of 35 kilos, he explains his weight loss: “It was good for me”

The comedy A little something extra produced by Artus has reigned supreme at the French box office for three weeks. The actors, some of whom have disabilities, as well as Alice Belaïdi, Clovis Cornillac and Marc Riso, made a remarkable climb to the steps at the Cannes Film Festival this Wednesday, May 22. Artus, very happy with this historic moment, spoke in an article published the next day in the newspaper Le Figaro. The director explained the reasons for his weight loss. Artus also stars in the film The Pampas directed by Antoine Chevrollier and presented at Cannes Critics’ Week. But to play in this film, Antoine Chevrollier “was very direct”, explained Artus first. “Are you ready to lose 35 kilos in four months?” he asked her. The comedian accepted after asking the reasons. “He had a role and wanted it to be me”, he revealed to Figaro.

A challenge that Artus took up. “I accepted because it was good for me”, he explained before adding: “I always said losing a lot of weight wouldn’t be a problem for me. if a role warranted it.” For Artus, being able to lose weight and therefore land this role was a snub to all those who did not believe in him: “For me, it’s a fight against all these people who don’t believe in me.“Being able to be in Cannes is therefore “revenge” and, despite his efforts to lose 35 kilos, “the four months of intensive diet are forgotten”.
