(Boursier.com) — A Ministerial Decree published in the Official Journal of February 16, 2024 announces the granting of a new exclusive research permit – PER ‘lithium and related substances’, known as ‘Les Poteries Minerales’, to the company Lithium de France, subsidiary ofArverne Group.

Located in Bas-Rhin, the permit covers an area of 151km2. This is the 4th permit obtained in two years by Lithium de France. In Northern Alsace, Lithium de France has already started multiple study and exploration operations in the field, making it possible to map a significant part of the subsoil of the areas which cover its first permits.

Integrated across the entire value chain, Arverne Group aims to combine the production of local renewable heat from geothermal energy, with the extraction and transformation, using innovative processes, of geothermal lithium for the electric mobility industry. The group now has, through its subsidiaries, a portfolio of 9 exclusive research permits – including 7 on geothermal energy and 2 on lithium – located in three different regions (Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Grand Est) , or more than 2,000 km2.

“This new permit, equivalent to the exclusive ‘Les Poteries’ geothermal research permit granted last August, constitutes an important step taken by the Lithium de France teams. We are delighted and will continue our work, with the territory, to contribute to the decarbonization of the French energy mix by developing geothermal projects and the production of sovereign geothermal lithium”, declares Pierre Brossollet, Chairman and CEO of Arverne Group.
