Warning, spoilers. The following article reveals some elements of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is currently shining in the cinema, marks the return of many well-known faces from the MCU, but above all the arrival of a certain Namor (Tenoch Huerta) in the franchise. In a recent article about Leader Talokan, posted on Marvel’s website, it was revealed just how powerful the new character is.

As ComingSoon reports, it was in a character profile on Marvel’s official website that Ryan Coogler, director of the two Black Panther installments, talked a little more in-depth about the powers that Namor possesses.

Besides being able to swim incredibly fast and fly, Coogler noted that there really is “no equal” to what Namor can do and that his strength alone matches that of Thor.

[Il n’y a] no equal in terms of abilities, he who is able to breathe underwater and breathe at high altitudes and walk on land. He’s incredibly strong, he’s as strong as Thor, and if he’s around enough water, he can be as strong as Hulk.

The strength of Namor is evoked in various sequences of this second chapter on the Black Panther: fans will therefore have to see the film to realize the potential of the leader of Talokan.

Ryan Coogler, who co-wrote the screenplay for the film alongside Joe Robert Cole, also explained why including this character was hugely important to him.

For us, introducing Namor was really an opportunity to introduce another politician, another sovereign leader of a group of people who represents more than himself.

Wakanda Forever marks the return of most of the original Black Panther main cast including Letitia Wright (Shuri), Angela Bassett (Ramonda), Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Martin Freeman (Everett K. Ross) , Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Florence Kasumba (Ayo). They are joined by newcomers to the franchise: Tenoch Huerta (Namor), Michaela Coel (Aneka), Mabel Cadena (Namora) and Alex Livinalli (Attuma).

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently in theaters.
