As the election of the president of the Republicans approaches, a day with Bruno Retailleau

Last week of campaign for the three candidates for the presidency of the Republicans, Éric Ciotti, Bruno Retailleau, Aurélien Pradié. This week, Europe 1 shows you behind the scenes of each candidate. This Wednesday, place for Bruno Retailleau who was in front of the Paris activists on Tuesday, the second largest LR federation in France. A few days before the first round, the candidate confided in his campaign.

“We will bring together all these French people who share our convictions”

He returned from Lille late at night, was in the Senate in the afternoon and before the activists in Paris on Tuesday evening, it is a campaign at a run for Bruno Retailleau. “It’s 8 p.m., I have two hours to go, I still have a few files to see, a candidate’s day is a day that starts very early for me and ends very late”, confides- he.

Warmly welcomed at the headquarters of the Republicans, his speech, now well-honed, lasted 45 minutes. A speech in which he was able to address several of his dear themes such as immigration, school, hospital, ecology and of course the future of the party. “We will bring together all these French people who share our convictions. There are millions of them, I assure you. I created a dynamic during the campaign, simply because I also hold a demanding speech and that our right-wing activists want a form of requirement”, he says.

The time for reckoning is approaching

A few days before the first round, Bruno Retailleau believes that this campaign was “difficult because our party is in crisis”, he specified. “But I did a campaign as I know how to do them, thoroughly. And I expressed what I have not stopped expressing for years”, he adds at the microphone of Europe 1. In a very undecided ballot, the candidate’s team sees the evening crowds as a positive sign. Nearly 400 people were present, about double Eric Ciotti, two weeks ago in the same room.
