What is an ascendant?
You know the zodiac signs, but what exactly is an ascendant? It is part of the individual natal chart, which consists of many components. Star astrologer Roswitha Broszath, who designed the ascendant check exclusively for BRIGITTE, will answer exactly how this works. "The ascendant is the most personal point in the horoscope because it is tailored precisely to the moment of birth."
What does that mean in concrete terms? The ascendant can be calculated from the time of birth, the place of birth and the birthday. The difficulty is that you have to know the exact time (down to the minute) on the day of the birth. And so it differs from the zodiac sign that we know from common horoscopes. Because that is the sign in which the sun is. You can imagine both together like a basic framework, like the shell of a house. And of course that says a lot about a person. All the other planets that can be read in a natal chart are like a fine equipment.
How does our ascendant check work?
In order to find your combination, you first have to calculate your ascendant in the ascendant calculator. Then you can go back to the "Zodiac Signs and Ascendants" overview: You keep pushing the slider up and down until your combination appears in the red middle field. And then you can be amazed what Roswitha Broszath says about the basic structure of your natal chart.
