Asia Argento accuses director Rob Cohen

Asia Argento was one of the first to denounce the actions of Harvey Weinstein at the very beginning of the #MeToo movement. The actress has just spoken to accuse Rob Cohen, director of xXx and Fast and Furious, of drugging and abusing her.

In 2017, Asia Argento was one of the first actresses to speak out against the sexual violence committed by Harvey Weinstein. The one who is also a director said that the American producer raped her in 1997, when she was 21 years old. In an interview published by the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, she explains this time that it is the director Rob Cohen who would have attacked her.

The facts go back to 2002. The actress was then working with Rob Cohen for the film xXx, where she co-starred with Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson. "This is the first time I speak of Cohen. He abused me by making me drink GHB, he had a bottle of it.", explains Asia Argento. The GHB, which she accuses the one who also carried out Fast and Furious to have used to drug her, is better known under the name of "drug of the date". "At the time, I didn't really know what it was. I woke up in the morning naked in bed.", says the actress.

With AFP, Asia Argento maintained his remarks. For his part, the director responded through a statement written by a spokesperson.. "Mr. Cohen categorically denies the completely false accusation of sexual assault leveled against him by Asia Argento. When they worked together, they had a great working relationship and Mr. Cohen considered her a friend, so this accusation that date of 2002 is disconcerting, especially when you consider what has been said about it in recent years ". In 2018, the American actor Jimmy Bennett had indeed accused the actress of sexual assault when he was 17 years old. She had initially denied having had sex with him, before acknowledging him but denying the version of her colleague.
