THE motherboards are more and more expensive, but ASRock seems to want to stop this galloping inflation. Check in store of course!

23:47 update. Our colleagues from Wccftech are the first to give a price for the two motherboards. Sure, they do it in dollars, but it still gives us some insight.

Thus, the ASRock Z790 Taichi Lite is at 379 dollars against 479 dollars for the indicative price of the Z790 Taichi in the United States (579 euros in France). It is about 299 dollars for the B650E Taichi Lite while the B650E Taichi is at 369 dollars (or 579 euros).

We are waiting for European prices, but the price differences in dollars seem to be sufficient to validate ASRock’s approach.

Long associated with “second class” motherboards at low prices, ASRock no longer has anything to envy the tenors of the sector and its prices are close to those practiced by ASUS, Gigabyte or MSI. Today, with its Taichi Lite, however, the firm seems to be returning to more “affordable” prices.

Taichi without the superfluous

Indeed, at ASRock the Taichi range represents the top of the range with models as richly endowed in terms of functionalities as accessories. Problem, this logically affects the price of these motherboards.

Without going as far as the delirious prices of the Carrara sub-models imitating the marble of the same name, the Taichi are negotiated at prices of more than 450 euros, and this, even when we are talking about a mid-range chipset like the B650/E from AMD. Of course, the Taichi Z790 is even more expensive.

Not stingy with superlatives, ASRock considers itself “ simply brilliant for having launched so-called Taichi Lite motherboards. For now, there are only two models, one based on Z790 (Intel) and one in B650E (AMD).

Simplification and price reduction?

The idea behind the Taichi Lite is, as ASRock explains, to ” retain the specs and features of Taichi motherboards, but with fewer RGB LEDs and a simpler external design “.

It’s amusing to see a motherboard manufacturer promote simplicity while high-end models compete for perfectly useless little extras to stand out. Still, the two Taichi Lites will surely find their audience by ignoring all the gadget side of the Taichi models while retaining their functional richness and their robustness… it’s an X570 Taichi user who says it!

ASRock also confirms that the primary benefit of simplifying its Taichi motherboards is to lower the price for ” finally bringing the long-awaited affordable high-end motherboards to market “. A well-rehearsed spiel which however suffers from a criticism: ASRock does not yet give any price. Hopefully the difference is noticeable.
