On November 24, 2010, the lifeless body of Christophe Lejard was found by his son, Christopher, as he was about to get into his car to go to work. The latter discovered his father lying in a pool of blood next to his car. He thus returned to alert his mother, Roseline Lejard, née Painchault, who immediately called the emergency services. Manager of a carpentry employing 17 employees, Christophe Lejard had been married to Roseline Lejard for 25 years. Together, the couple had a child. On his side, the victim’s wife was already the mother of two other children from a first marriage.
According to the results of the autopsy performed on the body of Christophe Lejard, the medical examiner concluded that it was a homicide, as the victim was shot in the back of the neck with a 12 gauge shotgun shell. and that he was even on the verge of divorce, given that Christophe Lejard had planned to start a new life with his mistress, Liliane Berger. Subsequently, the investigators highlighted the fact that Roseline Lejard hired a hitman to execute her husband. The man in question was Christopher Munsch, whose DNA was found at the crime scene.

During her stay in prison, Roseline Lejard also paid her former co-detainee Sylvie Colomer to kill Christopher Munsch when he will be out of jail. The latter had meanwhile been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of Christophe Lejard, while Arnaud Privat was sentenced to 15 years in prison for complicity in murder. Nowadays, Roseline Lejard continues to serve her sentence.
