Assassination of Narumi: a murder without a body, an enigmatic ex-boyfriend… and a very heavy epilogue

The verdict for the murder of Narumi Kurosaki fell on Tuesday April 12, 2022. Nicolas Zepeda was sentenced to 28 years in prison. The convict spoke one last time about this case.

This horrible story happened the night of December 4 to 5, 2016 at 3 o’clock in the morning. Chilling cries were heard in the residence hall where Nicolas Zepeda claimed that he had in no way killed his girlfriend Narumi Kurosaki. His trial was opened on March 29 the latter although he denied the charges against him. After 10 days of debate, the verdict finally fell on Tuesday, April 12: 28 years of imprisonment for the assassination of his Japanese ex-girlfriend Narumi Kurosaki, in December 2016 in Besançon, report The Parisian.

This is an unsurprising verdict since the Advocate General had required life imprisonment at the base. “Nicolas Zepeda deliberately killed his ex-girlfriend with premeditation”, according to Etienne Manteaux, the general counsel. Despite numerous inculpatory evidence, the accused always proclaimed his innocence. Note that Narumi Kurosaki was last seen on December 4, 2016. Her body was never found.

“I’m not an assassin, I’m not Narumi’s assassin”

Before the jurors deliberated, the president of the court, Matthieu Husson, had invited Nicolas Zepeda to speak one last time before closing the debate. “I am not who I would like, but I am not an assassinI am not Narumi’s killer”, he expressed, speaking for the first time in French. The 31-year-old Chilean, in a shirt and tie, has shed a few tears during his speaking turn.

I never wanted to be in the middle of Narumi’s family pain, I never wanted to be in the middle of my own family’s pain, my own pain“, he added.
