Assassin’s Creed Rift is Ubisoft’s postponed game according to Bloomberg

The latest financial statement ofUbisoft was particularly rich in information, and revealed to us the schedule for this end of the fiscal year, with the postponement of two titles for the publisher. The first is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which ultimately won’t see the light of day until April 2023 at the earliest, and the second is an as yet unannounced game, described as being on a smaller scale. Speculation was rife regarding the identity of this second game, and Bloomberg is now making things clear: it is indeedAssassin’s Creed Rift.

A few months delay for Assassin’s Creed

We assumed it without really believing it yesterday, but it would seem thatAssassin’s Creed Rift or this smaller game that has been postponed to the next fiscal year.

This is Jason Schreier who investigated the subject, and who reveals this in a new article on Bloomberg. It indicates thatAssassin’s Creed Rift was originally scheduled to be released sometime in February, but was pushed back to spring, around May or Junewhich explains its change of fiscal year (the year 2022/2023 ends on March 31, 2023).

Ubisoft Bordeaux is well behind the project according to him, and the studio would have requested a little more time because of a delay on the previously established schedule. So obviously, for the public, it’s hard to talk about a delay for a game that hasn’t even been publicly announced, but internal plans have changed a lot.

We will know more about all this in September, with the Ubisoft Forward.
