While in 2019, 66,140 offenders were under the age of 15, a study reported on Wednesday April 6 in Le Figaro reveals that the phenomenon is deeper, with perpetrators of increasingly violent attacks, violence and murders and younger and younger.
This survey, entitled “Security and society” dating from 2021 and established by the Insee of the statistical services of the Ministry of the Interior, thus details that in 28% of cases, these young offenders were mainly arrested for thefts, 25% of them for assault and 10% for sexual assault.

violence by foreign minors has exploded
The phenomenon is observed more particularly in the Paris area, particularly with regard to the number of unaccompanied foreign minors accused of acts of violence, which has jumped by 407% in five years.
Several presidential candidates, mainly on the right, have made insecurity a priority in their programs.
In addition to politicians, a large part of society would be in favor of a tougher law to punish violence.
