(CercleFinance.com) – Assystem has signed two new memorandums of understanding with the Ministry of Energy and the national electricity grid of Uzbekistan.
In the memorandum of understanding concluded with the Ministry of Energy, collaboration on the development of nuclear energy has been agreed.
‘ Possible areas of collaboration include (but are not limited to) the owner’s engineering services, including site characterization and monitoring, environmental and social impact assessments, ‘licensing, construction management and commissioning’ says the group.
Uzbekistan has an ambitious plan for the transformation of its energy sector with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This energy transition involves producing 25% of electricity from renewable energy sources by 2026 and to use other low-carbon energies, such as nuclear energy.
