Expected on February 1, 2023 in French cinemas, “Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Empire”, is revealed a little thanks to a very first poster on which we find the two Gauls played by Guillaume Canet and Gilles Lellouche. And Dogmatix.
It will, for sure, be one of the French cinema events of 2023, with Les Trois Mousquetaires, also distributed by Pathé. Expected on February 1 in our theaters, Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Empire is finally showing, thanks to a first poster.
Director of the film, Guillaume Canet will play the little blond Gaul alongside his friend Gilles Lellouche, chosen to play Obélix. Accompanied by the faithful Dogmatix, who can be seen on the poster, the two heroes will travel to China to help Princess Fu-Yi (Julie Chen) liberate her country and save her mother, the Empress (Linh- Dan Pham), imprisoned by the traitor prince Deng Tsin Quin (Bun-Hay Mean).
The first live-action Asterix film to be released in theaters since In Her Majesty’s Service in 2012, The Middle Empire will have a very large cast, like every episode of the saga. Alongside Guillaume Canet and Gilles Lellouche, we will indeed find Vincent Cassel (César), Marion Cotillard (Cléopâtre), Jonathan Cohen (Graindemaïs), Ramzy Bedia (Epidemaïs), José Garcia (Biopix), Pierre Richard (Panoramix), Jérôme Commander (Abraracourcix), Philippe Katerine (Assurancetourix) or Audrey Lamy (Bonnemine).
And some big cameos are expected, like those of Angèle (Falbala), Bigflo & Oli (Adbelmalix and Toufix) or even Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will lend his features to the formidable Antivirus. Beautiful people that we could see very soon in action, because the revelation of this poster marks the kickoff of the promotion around the film. And means a trailer could drop soon.
