This Friday, December 22, France 2 broadcasts the last episode of season 4 of Astrid and Raphaëlle. A final opus entitled “Guilty”, which will be full of twists and turns for the two investigators played by Lola Dewaere and Sara Mortensen.
Raphaëlle is in fact found, with amnesia, at the wheel of an accident car, the body of a man shot to death beside her. Guilty or innocent? It will take all the talent of Astrid and Nicolas (Benoit Michel) to help him untangle the tortuous thread of events…
Is a season 5 planned?
Even before the broadcast of season 4, which began on November 10, France 2 had already ordered a new burst of episodes. Good news for fans of Astrid and Raphaëlle, since the last episode ends on a cliffhanger which will surprise more than one.
It must be said that since its launch in 2019, the detective series has broken all audience records. And it is not season 4 which will deny this trend. Every Friday evening, more than 5 million viewers gather in front of their television screens to discover Astrid and Raphaëlle’s new investigations.
It is therefore no surprise that France 2 has decided to offer a season 5 to the successful fiction created by Alexandre de Seguins and Laurent Burtin.
The filming of this new burst of episodes will this time take place in two stages. The first four episodes went into production in early November, while the final four will be filmed in the spring.
The production company JLA announced to our colleagues that Satellifacts that this season 5 will see Astrid and Raphaëlle “ally with the secret services, pursue a professional killer, rub shoulders with Mormons, the horse racing world, the last descendant of an Aztec tribe, go to a Buddhist temple, on a film set or even confront a criminal transforming dangerously into full moon…”
Julien Seri will be responsible for directing this season 5 of Astrid and Raphaëlle, while the scenarios will be written by Hélène Hassoun, Laurent Burtin, Alexandre de SeguinsCéline Decoox, and Joseph Lantigny.
Lola Dewaere, Sara Mortensen, Benoit Michel and Sophia Yamna will be back alongside renowned guests including Julie Arnold (Marc and Sophie), Michel Bompoil (The Murderous Seasons), Aurélien Wiik (Munch) and Lorie Pester (Tomorrow Belongs to Us ).
A crossover with Alexandra Ehle
Before the broadcast of this season 5, which should be offered in autumn 2024, France 2 viewers will be able to find Astrid and Raphaëlle during a crossover event with Alexandra Ehle in which they will opposite Julie Depardieu.
In Paris, Astrid and Raphaëlle discover a human eye at the bottom of a jar of onions. At the same time, in Bordeaux, Alexandra Ehle leans over a corpse from which both eyes have been removed.
When the judge decides to put the two pieces of the puzzle together, Astrid, Raphaëlle and Alexandra understand that they will have to cooperate, for better or for worse! On the menu: family mystery and orphan illness, but also a little return to childhood, muscadet, a bike chase and… an oyster mushroom.
