An American version in preparation
Like HPI, Astrid et Raphaëlle will soon be entitled to its American remake. Jean-Sébastien Bouilloux, the producer of the detective series, confided during a press briefing that the rights for an American iteration had been sold for more than a year.after tough negotiations”.
The production was indeed keen to find teams that respected the series so as not to impact the original series. And the project seems to be on track to see the light of day since the American site Deadline has just revealed the names of the actresses who will play the new Astrid and Raphaëlle.
Who will play Astrid and Raphaëlle?
Renamed Patience, this 6-episode series is intended for the English-speaking market. Laura Fraser, an actress seen in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, will play Detective Bea Marcalf, a role inspired by that of Lola Dewaere.
In Sara Mortensen’s role, Ella Maisy Purvis, who gets her first major role here, plays Patience Evans, a police archivist with autism.
