Hubert Reeves, renowned astrophysicist and popularizer, died this Friday, October 13 at the age of 91.

Born in 1932 in Montreal, science popularizer Hubert Reeves had a passion for the stars since his early childhood. In 1960, after studying at the University of Montreal and McGill, he obtained his doctorate in nuclear astrophysics from Cornell University, in the United States. During his long career, he had the opportunity to teach cosmology in many countries, in addition to having been a consultant for NASA. In France, he even became research director at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and advisor to the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).

After having managed to pass on his passion to the generations who came after him, in particular because of his talents in popularizing the cosmos, the man who compared human beings to stardust has left us.
