The arrival of new processors Intel Raptor Lake will not necessarily involve changing motherboard.

A few days after ASRock, it is ASUS’s turn to confirm that its Intel 600 series chipset-based motherboards are compatible with the next generation of Intel processors, the famous Raptor Lake.

More than twenty models concerned

Intel had already had a few words about it, so it’s not surprising to see the various motherboard manufacturers offering this option: Intel 600 series chipsets are able to work in tandem with Raptor Lake processors. Only a BIOS update is needed.

In fact, ASUS has just followed in the footsteps of its compatriot ASRock and tells us that 23 of its 600 series motherboards have just received the BIOS 1601/1603 update to ensure this compatibility. Interestingly, this isn’t just for high-end models.

Motherboards like those in the Prime series can also be updated and ensure a longer lifespan. Note, however, that ASUS has not deigned to offer such an update on the series based on the H670, B660 or H610 chipset. Technical impossibility or will of the manufacturer?
