At Computex 2024, ASUS unveiled three new laptops aimed at creators looking for the great outdoors. Grouped under the ProArt umbrella, these have the particularity of being designed for use… outdoors. At least on paper.
A 16-inch laptop PC combining OLED, new generation AMD CPU and GeForce RTX 4070; a 13-inch convertible ultraportable, benefiting more or less from the same topography, but in a super compact format; and a Windows tablet equipped this time with an ARM processor from Qualcomm.
This is what you should remember from the ASUS ProArt announcements, the Taiwanese manufacturer’s range dedicated to creative uses. This triptych, however, has the particularity of relying on reinforced frames and on a context of use in the pampas. In any case if we stick to ASUS’ marketing for these three new products, which we detail below.
ProArt P16: another competitor for the MacBook Pro 16
Designed around AI like the majority of PCs launched in 2024, the ProArt P16 promises to be one more competitor to the MacBook Pro 16, but with several advantages to put forward compared to its Apple competitor.
The device benefits first of all from a hardened chassis (it is supposed to exceed the prerequisites of the military standard MIL-STD 810H) and yet compact: 14.9 mm thick for only 1.85 kilo in 16-inch format. It should therefore remain pleasant to transport despite its large screen.
In this regard, we find a touch and 4K OLED panel, in 16:10 format, capable of fully covering the DCI-P3 spectrum and displaying a lightning response time of 0.2 ms (like all OLED screens ). The image quality should therefore be there… even if the maximum brightness of this panel is limited to 500 cd/m2. Sufficient luminance indoors, but which could prove – with all due respect to ASUS – a little too tight outdoors.

This ProArt P16 promises to be powerful in any case. It combines a brand new generation AMD Ryzen processor (up to 12 cores and 24 threads under Zen 5 architecture) with a maximum of 64 GB of RAM (LPDDR5X at 7500 MHz) and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card.
The whole thing is powered by a 90 Wh battery, and has Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, with connections that actually correspond quite well to creative use (USB 4, SD reader, HDMI 2.1, etc.). ProArt range obliges, we finally find the configurable DialPad wheel to work more easily on software from the Adobe suite, among others.
The ProArt P16 will arrive in France at the beginning of August, starting at 2599 euros.
ProArt PX13: OLED, compactness and reinforced chassis
More compact and convertible, the ProArt PX13 also features a new generation AMD processor (up to 12 cores and 24 threads under Zen 5 architecture) and an RTX 4070 (probably limited to a more modest thermal envelope than on the P16), coupled with a maximum of 32 GB of RAM (LPDDR5X at 7500 MHz). This CPU/GPU tandem is installed here in a 17.7 mm chassis weighing 1.38 kg, also reinforced (MIL-STD 810H).
The 13.3-inch screen, which can be tilted 360 degrees around the keyboard to switch to tablet mode, is also based on OLED technology. On the other hand, we switch to a 2.8K definition (2880 points by 1800), but we retain 100% support for the DCI-P3 spectrum and a maximum luminance of 500 cd/m2.

For the rest, ASUS mentions the presence of a 73 Wh battery and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. On the connectivity side, however, we abandon the full-size SD reader for a much less useful MicroSD reader. However, USB 4 and HDMI 2.1 connections remain current.
The ProArt PX13 will arrive in France at the beginning of August, starting at 2,399 euros.
ProArt PZ13: a Windows ARM tablet for creative adventurers
Of these three new devices, the ProArt PZ13 tablet is probably the most “adventuresome”. ASUS also tells us about MIL-STD 810H certification for the chassis, but also mentions water and dust resistance (IP52) and a “ extremely durable “.
Based for its part on an ARM processor from Qualcomm (coupled with a maximum of 16 GB of LPDDR5X at 8500 MHz), this Windows slate features a 2.8K (2880 pixels by 1800) 13.3-inch OLED screen in 16 format :10, also covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and reaching 500 cd/m2 of maximum brightness.

The whole thing is powered by a 70 Wh battery, and shoehorned into a 9mm thick chassis weighing 0.85 kg (excluding detachable keyboard). Finally, note the presence of two USB 4 ports and an SD card reader, alongside Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.
The ProArt PZ13 will arrive in France in mid-August, starting at 1299 euros.
