All that was missing was this information about this serious competitor to the Steam Deck by ASUS to complete the picture.

It is therefore now official, the price of the ASUS ROG Ally and its release date on our green pastures have finally been revealed, and it is already possible to pre-order the beast!

A brand new ally?

After relaunching steam around portable console/PC hybrids, the Steam Deck will very soon be neck and neck with one of its first real competitors, through ASUS. After having surprised everyone in an unusual way on the occasion of the 1er April, the Taiwanese manufacturer’s ambitions crystallize with an official release date and price.

With us, the famous ASUS ROG Ally will therefore be available for sale on June 13 at a price of 799 euros, thus confirming several recent reports in this area. Pre-orders are open today from sworn retailers such as Fnac Darty, Boulanger, Cdiscount, France Accessories, or directly from ASUS eShop.

However, you will not have to blink to hope to reserve a copy of this long-awaited portable console from ASUS, as the competition promises to be tough.

A much-requested console?

It must be said that the beast has a rather interesting technical sheet, and this, for a price that one could have legitimately imagined higher. For 799 euros, it has a 7-inch FHD IPS screen, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 512 GB M.2 NVMe SSD, and above all a powerful AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU displaying an 8-core processor in Zen architecture. 4, clocked up to 5.10 GHz in Boost mode; as well as a 12 CU RDNA3 GPU promising 8.6 Tflops of power.

A very serious competitor to the Steam Deck in short, which shows promise on many levels, with the operating system being a personalized version of Windows 11, and therefore a certain emphasis placed on the Game Pass. We also have an in-house test that will arrive shortly, to tell you more about our feelings.

Perhaps enough to convince you to pre-order this heavy Ally from ASUS, or rather to wait until June 13, provided that stocks hold up!
