Asus ROG Phone 6 will feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 for better battery life

Not yet announced, we know that the Asus ROG Phone 6 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. This is the brand that officially announces it through a press release. A chip whose energy efficiency should be better than its predecessor.

While Qualcomm presented the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a high-end SoC, a few days ago, Asus took the opportunity to announce that its ROG Phone 6 will be equipped with this latest chip. An ad even as this phone gaming has not yet been officially presented.

Even better performance on the Asus ROG Phone 6

Asus praises Qualcomm’s new chip, stating that the Qualcomm Adreno GPU “increases GPU speed by 50% and GPU power efficiency by up to 50%“. Performance found on the processor, which would be 15% greater compared to the Snapdragon 888, which was found in the ROG Phone 5.

Asus therefore wants to do even better on the sixth iteration of the ROG Phone, with a phone that would allow “game up to 70 minutes longer or listen to music for up to 14.5 hours longer“, thanks to “higher energy savings“. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 would heat up less than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which tended to heat up. Moreover, the founder will no longer be Samsung Foundry, but TSMC, whose 4nm manufacturing process is deemed to be more efficient. Also, this chip passes the 3 GHz mark with a maximum frequency of up to 3.2 GHz: a small performance gain which should be suitable for a smartphone focused on the practice of video games.

Apart from that, nothing else has been announced by Asus about its ROG Phone 6: we only know that it “will be officially announced in the near future“. Other high-end smartphones could benefit from Qualcomm’s latest high-end chip in the coming months.
