It didn’t take long to discover the first “partner” model of the Radeon RX 7000 graphics card.

On November 3, AMD kept its word and presented its response to NVIDIA’s new Ada Lovelace architecture. An answer which, for the moment, consists of two aesthetically very similar graphics cards, the Radeon RX 7900XTX and 7900XT.

On paper, close to AMD models

Announced as an AMD partner on this RDNA 3 generation, ASUS wasted no time in presenting to the public one of the designs it has in mind for the integration of AMD’s new GPUs.

At the moment, however, there is no question of a STRIX model and it is a TUF Gaming card which was unveiled on video by Jake Kulinski and his friend, Whitson Gordon.

An ASUS TUF RX 7900XTX with 12,288 cores and 24 GB of GDDR6 is therefore planned, as well as a more “modest” ASUS TUF RX 7900XT with 10,752 cores and 20 GB of GDDR6.

Three 8-pin connectors

The reference cards presented by AMD were remarkably similar and the same goes for ASUS’ TUF Gaming. The manufacturer seems, however, to have greatly increased the dimensions.

It is difficult to give more details at this level, but it looks like it is a triple-slot card, particularly heavy due to the presence of a backplate completely metallic.

ASUS evokes the presence of a dual-BIOS and announces the presence of three 8-pin power connectors, one more than on AMD cards. Perhaps ASUS has boosted the TDP of its cards a bit?

Note, however, that there is currently no question of any MSRP on the part of ASUS, which no doubt wishes to avoid over-committing when the cards are not expected before mid-December.
