For many months now, Asus has dominated the laptop market when it comes to screens built into its machines. The manufacturer has made a specialty of integrating excellent Oled screens into most of its products, where the competition continues to offer LCD screens. With the new VivoBook Pro 14X, 15X and 16X range, Asus is stepping up the pace.

The screen that ticks all the boxes

We may reread our grid of criteria for what makes a good screen, what Asus offers seems to meet all our conditions. Screen technology? Oled for infinite contrasts. The fluidity ? Asus offers 120 Hz here. The definition? From 2880 x 1620 to 3200 x 1200 pixels depending on the screen size 14.5, 15.6 or 16 inches. The display format? From 16:10 to offer the best both at work and in multimedia. And the colors? 100% DCI-P3 spectrum coverage and DisplayHDR TrueBlack certification. There is simply nothing to complain about.

Beyond the screen, the VivoBook Pro range gives pride of place to the latest technologies from Intel and AMD.

On the Intel side first, we have the Asus Vivobook Pro 14X OLED (N7401), the Vivobook Pro 15X (K6501) and the Vivobook Pro 16X (N7601). They feature a 12th generation Intel Core H-series processor with up to 32GB of DDR5 4800MHz RAM, 512GB to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage and an Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics chip up to 3070 Ti for version 16 inches. The connection is quite wide with in particular a microSD Express 7.0 card reader and an RJ45 Ethernet 2.5 Gb port on the 15 and 16 inch formats in addition to the classic USB-C ports and USB-A ports.

If you prefer AMD, you will have to go with the Vivobook Pro 15X (M6501) and Vivobook Pro 16X (M7601) references which offer an AMD Ryzen 6000-H processor, still with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 graphics chip. whether for screen, memory or storage does not change. The USB-C ports are in 3.2 Gen 2, as often with AMD, instead of the Intel platform’s Thunderbolt 4.
