It’s a scary story. The correctional court of Liège sentenced one of its inhabitants, aged 26, to a suspended prison sentence. He is accused of rape and indecent assault on a 12-year-old girl. The latter had claimed to the stranger that she was 14 years old. Despite the child’s minority, the man had organized a meeting with the child and had even visited his home on October 4, 2018. “He had imposed on her sexual acts which constitute preventions of indecent assault and rape of a minor.” He was identified through photo recognition and telephone analysis. Sentenced by default, the defendant appealed against this decision. Following a new study, the individual was sentenced to a three-year suspended sentence with the remainder of the preventive detention.
