At 1700 meters – Alpine hut in the Zillertal burned out completely

Major operation for several fire departments on Friday in the Tyrolean Zillertal: On the Hochschwendberg in Hippach at around 1,700 meters above sea level, a hut burst into flames shortly before 8 a.m. The emergency services couldn’t do much.

The emergency services received the alarm around 7:50 a.m. An alpine hut on Hochschwendberg was on fire. The building is a converted stable above the Pendlingalm, which is used as a leisure residence. Hut burned down, no injuriesAccording to “Krone” information, the fire departments of Laimach, Schwendau, Ramsau, Mayrhofen, Zell am Ziller and Uderns were on duty, as were rescue and police. The firefighters allowed the hut to burn down in a controlled manner – there was nothing left to save. According to officials, there were no people in or near the hut at the time the fire broke out, so there were no injuries.
