At 6.30 am sharp – fire at will! The Ironman pros have started

The 25th Ironman Austria has started! The professional men entered the water at the Klagenfurt lido at 6:30 am sharp. The first athlete is expected at the Seepark Hotel at around 7:15 am. This year the bikes will again go twice along the south shore to Lake Faak and back over the Rupertiberg. The winner will be expected at the end of the marathon at the lido. A total of 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.2 km of running must be completed.

Let’s go! Because Lake Wörthersee is not 22 degrees, the Ironman pros are allowed to wear neoprene suits today. The starting shot was fired at 6:30 a.m. at the Klagenfurt lido. The start is on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. at the Klagenfurt lido, the swim exit is after 3.8 km at the Hotel Seepark. The first athlete is expected there at around 7:15 a.m. The bike route leads over 180 km along the southern shore road to Velden, to Lake Faak, back to Velden and up to the Rupertiberg. Via Ludmannsdorf and Köttmannsdorf it then goes back to the Hotel Seepark – and from there to the second lap. The marathon runs between Krumpendorf and the Klagenfurt city center. The winner is expected at the Klagenfurt lido shortly before 3 p.m. New, old bike routeThis year, as in the beginning, a 90 km loop will be ridden twice. The bike route runs for 180 km along the southern shore road to Velden, to Lake Faak, back to Velden and up to the Rupertiberg. Via Ludmannsdorf and Köttmannsdorf it then goes back to the Hotel Seepark – and from there to the second round.The marathon then runs between Krumpendorf and the Klagenfurt city center.
