A 6-year-old boy died of a heart attack after drinking a glass of Monster Energy in Matamoros, northeastern Mexico on April 16. He was visiting his grandmother.
Unfortunately, misfortune never warns when it occurs. However, it can affect both adults and children. This misfortune took the form of a heart attack in the case of young Francisco Cervantes, 6 years. Indeed, this little boy is died after drinking a drink Monster Energy. A tragedy that took place on April 16 in Matamorosin northeastern Mexico.
That day, the young Francisco Cervantes was visiting his grandmother, reports Mirror. Reports indicate thathe saw the drink on the table and drank it down to quench his thirst. Quickly, he felt discomfort forcing his relatives to take him to the local hospital Alfredo Pumarejo. He was diagnosed with intoxication on arrival. Only, the diagnosis changed to brain dead a little later. Young Francisco Cervantes spent 6 days in a coma. His motherJessica, had refused to unplug it of his artificial life support machine.
“Unfortunately, my son couldn’t take it anymore”
Despite her persistence and the hope that animated her, Jessica resolved to unplug her 6-year-old son. “Unfortunately, my son couldn’t take it anymore. For the moment, we will take care of the funeral expenses to offer him a Christian burial”, she said following her decision. The research of Mirror failed to determine if little Francisco was suffering from known pre-existing health conditions.
It should be noted that professionals as well as health services, including the NHS, advise children not to consume energy drinks. The latter being often rich in caffeine as well as sugar.
