It’s a 59-year-old tradition! Indeed, since 1964, the magazine Sports Illustrated publishes a special issue once a year. For the occasion, a celebrity is chosen to make the front page, in a swimsuit. Entitled Swimsuit Issue, this special issue is often debated in the United States. And this year, the magazine chose a celebrity well known to the American public, namely 81-year-old Martha Stewart.

The idea of choosing a star for the annual cover of the special issue is credited to André Laguerre, the publishing director.
