Apple is pushing very hard to get its employees back to face-to-face.

The Cupertino company has already been talked about several times regarding its refusal to telecommute. But Apple, which has often pushed for its employees to return to the site, will use quite new (and intrusive!) means this time.

Apple multiplies the warnings

The word has been passed on to Apple: more face-to-face is needed. The employees of the tech giant must, in fact, be present on the premises of their company, and this, at least 3 times a week. To enforce it, Apple will run after the employees. And above all, adopt a firmer tone, with increasingly severe warnings that will be sent to those who do not comply with the new rule. These warnings could also lead to potential dismissals.

It must be said that the company founded by Steve Jobs is currently under pressure, with in particular the obligation to quickly complete its very first mixed reality headset. A product that should be launched during the next school year, despite the reluctance of the team in charge of design.

And in order to apply this new standard as concretely as possible, Apple will not cut corners. According to Zoë Schiffer, management will use the badge reader system to track employees, and will thus know in real time if the employees of a team have taken the face-to-face route again.

If the threat, at the end of the road, of dismissal, would exist, it would not concern all divisions indiscriminately. In any case, given the current atmosphere in the tech world, where layoffs are on the rise, whether at Meta, Google, or Amazon, such a sword of Damocles hanging over the company’s employees should surely convince more than one to return to work in the premises of their company.
