At debut in Poland – departure at RallyeEM! Carinthian landed in the water

The first EM appearance of the St. Veiter Rally driver Alfred Kramer jun. fell into the water. On the second day he ended up (ranked 8th in the junior ranking) after a wild ride in a lake. A fan captured the scenes on video.

This is how Alfred Kramer jun. did not present his European Championship debut in Poland. On the second day, the St. Veiter lost control on SS 10 with his Peugeot Rally4 in a fast passage and ended up in a lake. “I misjudged the curve and had a choice: power poles or hay bales – unfortunately we didn’t know that the lake was behind the bale,” says the 25-year-old. The Polish fans next to the track were there immediately, helping Kramer and Co-driver Jeannette Kvick quickly out of the vehicle. The car was then only pulled out of the water by a tractor after the end of the special stage. “Of course everything was completely wet. But I think the engine survived that,” says Kramer. Problems with the gravel track He had previously struggled with the gravel. “I’m not used to this. I still have a lot to learn on this surface.” With co-pilot Jeannette Kvick (Danish), he is tackling the junior classification at the European Championships for the first time this year. The time lag was greater than expected,” says Kramer, who feels much more comfortable on asphalt. The next two rallies are also on gravel. “We’re on it, I have to learn.”
