Google is leading several major projects in the areas of hardware, software and artificial intelligence. From Google Bard to Pixel 8 to Android 15 to the Chromebook range, there is something for everyone. We therefore wanted to know which of these projects excites you the most. Here are your answers!
Google is on a war footing to carry out several major projects. It started in October with the new Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
But the Californian giant is not betting everything on the smartphone either. The race for artificial intelligence is clearly at the heart of its priorities. On this front, Google Bard is at the forefront. Moreover, this chatbot recently received a big update: thanks to “Extensions”, it can now interact with Gmail, YouTube, Maps and other Google applications. In the future, other new Bard products will arrive.
Towards new Chromebook products?
For its part, Android 14 was entitled to its stable version (finally). With this update, some small new features will be available on our Android mobile devices. However, the experience will not be disrupted. Perhaps Android 15, expected in a year, will bring big changes to the OS. In any case, that’s what we can hope for.
While there isn’t really any specific or official information about a Wear OS overhaul, maybe you can expect one. If so, we could expect Google to address the subject at the next Google I/O, traditionally held in May. At this stage, there is nothing to confirm this.
Several leaks suggest that Google is working on new Chromebook products. Mentions of Chromebook X and Chromebook Plus were recently discovered: this would better differentiate the cheaper Chromebooks from the high-end models. Once again, we have the right to expect new developments in this category of products.
Of all Google projects, the Pixel 8 is the most anticipated
The context is set. So, what Google project are you most excited about? This was the subject of our weekly survey. Several hundred people responded to it. Result: the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are the new Google products that you are waiting for the most.
Smartphones received 59.7% of the votes in response to the following question: “what new thing are you most looking forward to from Google in the coming months?» 18.2% of participants say they are more enthusiastic about significant changes for Android 15. The potential of Google Bard which is expected to develop in the near future attracts only 8.9% of votes.
A finally serious ambition from Google on Chromebooks garners the greatest hopes of 8.1% of respondents while a potential overhaul of Wear OS represents the main interest of a minority of 5.1% of participants.
