Any hope of seeing our processors focusing on efficiency rather than raw power is therefore not lost.

Last week, a leak allowed us to know in detail all the Raptor Lake processors planned by Intel. Thus, two CPUs of the “T” series, known for its low consumption, were mentioned.

35 Watt base TDP

Today, another leak allows us to learn a little more about one of the representatives of this range, the Core i7-13700T, a processor whose base TDP will be only 35 Watts.

The “T” series is designed for very specific situations, environments in which the hunt for waste is essential. In fact, it has always been far ahead of the others when it comes to TDP and performance per watt.

This Core i7-13700T, its base frequency of 1.4 GHz, its boost frequency of 4.788 GHz and its 16 cores (8 efficient / 8 efficient) seem well placed to add a layer.

More beefy than a Ryzen 7 5800X

Indeed, according to the leak relayed by our colleagues from Videocardzexpect with this processor performance in line with what can be obtained from a Core i5-12600K.

For the time being, the measures are incomplete and are limited to Geekbench 5 displaying between 1,893 and 1,939 points in single core and between 8,925 and 11,564 in multi core. These are results superior to those of a Ryzen 7 5800X and more or less at the level of a Core i5-12600K.

Of course, one would need to know the exact CPU consumption at test time before getting too excited, but while the ‘T’ series won’t be part of the initial Raptor Lake launch, this leak highlights that the CPUs aren’t far from ready.
