At night – accident: Drunk cyclist on the road without lights

On the night of Friday there was a collision in Wolfsberg between a car driver and a bicycle handlebar who was driving without lights. Alcohol was also involved.

At around 10:40 p.m., a 27-year-old from Wolfsberg wanted to turn his car from St. Mareiner Strasse to the right onto Packer Bundesstrasse. In the darkness, he may have overlooked the 61-year-old cyclist, who was riding his unlit bicycle at the same time. The cyclist was injured to an undetermined degree and had to be admitted to the LKH Wolfsberg after medical first aid. The police carried out breathalysers on both people involved. “A breathalyser test showed that the handlebars were moderately intoxicated. The driver of the car was sober,” says the officer.
