At night and in fog – fence away from pasture: 70 sheep broke out

The owners of a flock of sheep in Silz will not be spared anything this year. First they had to fetch the animals from the alpine pasture because of the danger of wolves, now they have to laboriously round up their sheep in the mountains again. The animals had escaped after unknown perpetrators had removed a pasture fence.

According to the police, the crime took place on Tuesday night. In the area of the “Silzer waterfall”, as yet unknown perpetrators removed 15 meters of a live pasture fence. Around 70 sheep were kept in the pasture.

Animals probably wanted to go back to the alpine pastures
The animals took the opportunity and ran away. The sheep streamed uphill into impassable terrain. She probably wanted to go back to the alpine pasture, from where the owners drove them into the valley early on. Some of the animals have now been recaptured – but by no means all. It can take a while until the herd is complete again.
