At Paris fashion week, Mickey parades in Coperni

After a month of shows, from New York to Paris, how can we give a boost of energy to journalists, buyers and those involved in fashion weeks? By taking them to Disneyland Paris! This is the bet of Coperni, who organized his show in the amusement park, Tuesday 1er October, last day of presentation of the spring-summer 2025 collections.

Even though the show was held late, at 10:30 p.m., usually sullen fashion editors were seen jumping up and down like children as they were greeted by Chip and Dale. This is the first time that the park, inaugurated in 1992 in Marne-la-Vallée (Seine-et-Marne), presents a fashion show. It’s a childhood dream!exclaim Sébastien Meyer and his husband, Arnaud Vaillant, who founded Coperni in 2013. We are both from the south of France and when we first arrived in Paris, that’s where our parents took us, long before we went to visit the Eiffel Tower! »

Two years of negotiations with the Disney teams were necessary to make their dream a reality. It was in front of Sleeping Beauty’s illuminated castle that the models presented the collection, obviously inspired by the world of Disney and which gave rise, for certain pieces, to a collaboration with the American brand.

Shorts with attached key rings

Divided into three parts, the wardrobe first evoked the innocence of childhood: little blouses with organza ruffles, shorts with key rings attached to the belt, short white dresses with puffed sleeves, shoes with Mickey ears or a succession of vintage t-shirts decorated with Donald or Grumpy.

Then arrive the evil characters, Snow White’s evil stepmother printed on a t-shirt, black patent leather coats or even short dresses whose bodice takes the shape of haunted castles.

Finally, the princesses appeared with little dresses cut from transparent tulle and stitched with flowers. It was the American influencer Kylie Jenner, half-sister of Kim Kardashian, who closed the show, in a voluminous black strapless dress. A well-organized collection and not devoid of commercial potential.

As the procession progressed, the majestic castle was adorned with different colors and lightning split the sky as the evil figures appeared. We did dozens of rehearsals with the Disney teams to find the right tempo and the right colors to project on the castle! »explains the Coperni duo, who have always been adept at creating events whose images spread like wildfire on social networks.

Once the parade was over, the approximately eight hundred guests rushed to the attractions that remained open for the occasion, including the unmissable Space Mountain roller coaster or those dedicated to the character of Buzz Lightyear. Screams of fear, mixed with laughter, then echoed in the park until late at night.
