At peace summit, leaders disagree over Israeli bombing

While the first humanitarian aid convoys arrived in Gaza, around thirty representatives of countries and international organizations gathered in Cairo this Saturday, October 21, on the occasion of the peace summit, set up by the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi. Objective: to relaunch a peace process between Palestinians and Israelis.

If all pleaded with one voice one “ceasefire” and demanded massive and continuous humanitarian aid to Gaza, differences were felt on their position vis-à-vis Israel. Many leaders of Arab countries have denounced the daily bombings of the Jewish state on the Gaza Strip. For their part, European countries have highlighted Israel’s right to defend itself.
