ANALYSIS – The president chose the large and famous Ile-de-France market to talk about work.
The reference is easy, but whatever. By indicating that Emmanuel Macron intended to go to Rungis (Val-de-Marne) at dawn this Tuesday morning, the Élysée offered itself the most overused – and perhaps the least subtle – of possible allusions to Nicolas Sarkozy . Thus the entourage of the President of the Republic confirmed that the Head of State was expected on the largest fresh produce market in the world, “alongside French people who work early“. A nod assumed and, it must be said, welcome, to the former boss of the right, at a time when the executive needs the Republicans more than ever to hope to avoid stagnation.
In the middle of a quagmire on pensions, after the obstruction orchestrated by La France insoumise in the Assembly, the government is already preparing the imminent arrival of its text on immigration to the Senate, scheduled for mid-March. And, above all, he is working on the launch of his full-employment law, which the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt will soon have to carry.
