At the 2-wheel show, Peugeot revives this 50-year-old legend

Affordable, stylish and easily repairable, this moped was the simplest way to get around in the 1970s. The Peugeot 103 SP, which has sold nearly 3 million copies worldwide, is undoubtedly the one of the most famous models. To properly celebrate its 50th anniversary, the lion brand revealed a brand new concept called SPx during the 2-wheel show (Lyon).

The Peugeot 103 SPx concept is inspired by the past, but looks resolutely towards the future.

Developed by the Peugeot Motocycles teams, the SPx is expected on the roads for 2025 and will naturally fit into the spirit of the times. Understand by this that the thermal engine will be replaced by an electric one that is less polluting and easy to maintain. A prioria second battery, visible in the photo below, can be installed on the frame of the moped in order to increase its autonomy.

According to our colleagues at Green Mobility, the Peugeot SPx is based on a monocoque aluminum frame, benefits from a belt transmission and will be produced in France. Little information has yet circulated about this Peugeot 103 SP, but it is very likely that it will be available in three versions: a 50cc that can go up to 45 km/h, a second 50cc with more autonomy and a more powerful 125cc.
