  • Welsh actress Glynis Johns has died aged 100. This was announced by her manager.
  • Johns was known for her role as Winifred Banks in the 1964 Disney film musical “Mary Poppins.”

The actress appeared in numerous films. Glynis Johns was nominated for an Oscar in 1960 for her role in the film “The Endless Horizon” (originally “The Sundowners”).

In 1973 she received a Tony Award for Best Actress in the musical “A Little Night Music”. In it she also sang the song “Send in The Clowds”, which was later covered by many artists.
