At the border crossing – priority action: 18 illegal migrants caught

The State Criminal Police Office has struck a blow against illegal migration: a total of four people smugglers and 18 illegal migrants were apprehended at the Karawanken Tunnel border crossing.

The priority campaign, in which the Carinthian State Criminal Police Office focused mainly on illegal migration, bore fruit. At the Karawanken Tunnel border crossing, the officials then caught a total of 4 smugglers. The men come from Belgium, France and Germany and ended up in the Klagenfurt prison after the arrest. Of the 18 illegal migrants, 15 are Africans from Burundi and the other three are from Afghanistan.
