As tradition dictates, a wave of comedies will arrive these days, with the selection of films at the Alpe d’Huez Comedy Festival. Which films make up the selection for the 2024 Alpe d’Huez Festival? On the event side, 2024 will offer us the first cinema confrontation between two great comic actors: Didier Bourdon and Christian Clavier, in Cocorico (see the trailer above).
Among the signatures, spectators will have an appointment this year with Quentin Dupieux (for 2 films!), Bruno Podalydès, or even Bruno Dumont, who should once again move towards dystopian comedy (The Empire, with Camille Cottin, Lyna Khoudri , Anamaria Vartolomei, Fabrice Luchini…).

Have you always dreamed of seeing what a film shoot is like? Then Making of by Cédric Kahn should please you! But as it’s a comedy, everything won’t go as planned, and you’ll see a shoot like a disaster movie!
The film follows Simon, a seasoned director who begins shooting a film recounting the fight of workers to save their factory. But between the shenanigans of his producer, uncontrollable actors and on-edge technicians, he is quickly overwhelmed by events. Abandoned by his financiers, Simon must face a social conflict with his own team. In this hellish shoot, his only ally is the young extra to whom he entrusted the production of the making of. Carried by a nice cast: Jonathan Cohen, Denis Podalydès, but also Emmanuelle Bercot, Xavier Beauvois, Souheila Yacoub and Stefan Crepon. Currently in theaters.
Cocorico – February 7, 2024

Christian Clavier And Didier Bourdon will perform opposite each other for the first time in the cinema. cock-a-doodle Doo ! This is the name of this comedy written and directed by Julien Hervé (former author of Guignols, co-author of the Tuche saga and the latest installment of Asterix).
Like a successful comedy like What We Did to the Good Lord?, this film will fully play on contrasts and opposing social origins. Marianne Denicourt and Sylvie Testud surround the Clavier-Bourdon tandem. Cocorico will be released on February 7, 2024.
Operation Portugal 2: castle life – February 7, 2024

The comedian D’Jal, famous for his sketch about the Portuguese, will be the hero of a second part of Operation Portugal. For this sequel, he will lead Castle life! This sequel will be in theaters barely three years after the release of the first part which was a great success (more than 450,000 admissions) in June 2021, in a complex period for theater attendance.
For his new adventures, Hakim alias Joaquim, our clumsy and blundering policeman, will have to thwart the plans of a crooked promoter: the Count of Neuville. With his friends, he infiltrates the Count’s Castle but must also prepare his marriage to Julia, from whom he has hidden his mission. Nothing goes as planned and Hakim and his band of nickel-plated feet, overwhelmed, will go from disaster to disaster. He will then enter a mad race to succeed in his mission and save his relationship.
The comedian D’Jal, known for his sketch about the Portuguese, will once again be directed by Frank Cimière. Both co-signed the screenplay for this second film which is titled Operation Portugal 2: Castle Life. Grégoire Bonnet, well known to fans of Scènes de households on M6, is in the casting. D’jal will meet you on February 7, 2024.

Gilles Lellouche and Anaïs Demoustier, already in the cast of Fumer fait cough, are back in the crazy world of the filmmaker of Rubber and Mandibles.
Jonathan Cohen, Pio Marmaï, Edouard Baer, Romain Duris, Didier Flamand, Agnès Hurstel and Jérôme Niel are also there. Dog and cat – February 14, 2024

Seven years after the comedy D-Day, Reem Kherici returns to directing with a feature film which combines live shots and computer-generated images. In Cat and Dog, she plays Monica, an influencer who owns Diva, a famous cat on the Internet. Jack (Dubosc) is a thief whose latest theft, a huge ruby of inestimable value, was accidentally swallowed by a stray dog named Chichi. Through a combination of circumstances, Monica and Jack find themselves separated from their animals and therefore see them, helpless, escape to an unknown destination… It is the comedian and actress Ines Reg who lends her voice to the cat, while Artus overtakes the dog Chichi. Dog and Cat will be released in theaters on February 14.

Released in our theaters on February 16, 2022, the first part of Retirement home was successful, with more than 2 million admissions. Entrusted to director Thomas Gilou (The Truth if I lie), Maison de Retraite brought together Kev Adams, Jarry, Gérard Depardieu, Daniel Prévost, Mylène Demongeot, Jean-Luc Bideau, Liliane Rovere, Firmine Richard and Marthe Villalonga. The sequel is already arriving on the big screen, on February 14, and in preview at the opening of the Alpe d’Huez Festival.
Retirement home will invite us to meet Milann (Kev Adams) and some of the residents of the retirement home: Fleurette, Sylvette, Alfred, Edmond… The latter now rub shoulders with the children of an orphanage. Where it would be a question of shenanigans around a dark matter of expulsion.

After 4 successful parts, which total more than 5 million entries in total, an episode 5 is indeed approaching, for this year 2024. And Ducobu will travel for his new adventures, still under the direction of Elie Semoun . The dunce student will go to the countryside for this new film, titled Ducobu Goes Green.
Ducobu has already had four parts at the cinema, all crowned with a certain success and regular in terms of admissions, namely all over a million admissions: in detail, L’Eleve Ducobu recorded 1,490,654 admissions ( released in June 2011); Les Vacances de Ducobu, 1,058,074 entries (April 2012); Ducobu 3, 1,497,326 entries (February 2020), and finally, Ducobu President, 1,129,226 entries (July 2022). For the record, the Ducobu films are inspired by the Belgian comic book series created by Zidrou and Godi.

Please note that this selection is not exhaustive. Many other comedies will arrive in the coming months, including the very first production by actress Laurence Arné. The Hennedricks, with Laurence Arné and Dany Boon in the main roles, will be released next June. Still with Dany Boon in the cast, let us mention Les Chèvres, directed by Fred Cavayé.
In short, there will also be Nous les Leroy, Flobert’s first feature film, with José Garcia and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Never without my psychologist with Baptiste Lecaplain and Christian Clavier.
If you are fans of the Bodin’s, the rest of their adventures will not be available in the cinema, but on M6 later this year, with The Bodin’s Investigating in Corsica, directed by Thierry Binisti. And finally you will have to wait until 2025 to discover Les Tuche 5!
