“At the end of his life”: this project that Joe Dassin had with his sisters: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

This Sunday, November 12, 2023, Joe Dassin’s sisters – Richelle and Julie – were Michel Drucker’s guests in Roll on Sunday on France 3. The host was in better shape than ever despite the heart operation he underwent in March 2023, less than three years after the first. He then confided in Parisian in July 2023: “I’m much better today, but I’ve had some tough times. Some nights I was so knocked out that I thought I’d never come back. I was a shadow, a ghost. I couldn’t walk two meters. It took me two months before I could take a shower again. I didn’t eat anymore, I lost 10 kilos.”. On this November 12, 2023, Michel Drucker organized a broadcast in honor of Joe Dassin. Many relatives of the famous singer came to testify, including his sisters Richelle and Julie. It was impossible for the host to envisage this special program without them: “I didn’t want to dedicate a show to Joe without you”he told them when they arrived on the set.

Joe Dassin, a very caring brother

During their interview with Michel Drucker, Richelle and Julie returned to the relationship they had with their brother. These are touching revelations about a caring brother, who left far too soon at the age of 41. When the presenter asked him “Which brother was he?”Richelle immediately replied: “He was a very caring person.and at the same time he wanted so well to do everything he did for him. He was a man of excellence in what he did so he was very attentive. And for example, music is what he got us into. Well, we were already a musical family, but he included us in it. For the lyrics, he makes Julie sing. And at the end of his life, I want to say, he came back to us to write a song. It’s Julie on the music and me on the lyrics. And Maryse, his wife, was like a sister to us too.” she added, before confiding to Michel Drucker: “I can’t help but say that my brother loved you very much. And that you were very good to him and I want to thank you for that”. A testimony that pays tribute to the person that Joe Dassin was.
