At the “fenstergucker” – air rescuers rescued ice climbers with ropes

Air rescue workers had to respond to an accident in the mountains in Bad Gastein on Friday morning. One person was rescued by helicopter.

Fortunately, one person was only slightly injured while ice climbing around midday on Friday. She fell at the Bad Gastein icefall “Window Watcher”. The Red Cross sent the Martin 1 helicopter from the St. Johann helicopter base. At the scene, the air rescuer was lowered onto the rope to the ice wall. He was able to rescue and transport the person within a short time. She was taken to Schwarzach Hospital with minor injuries.
