(CercleFinance.com) – Atos announces that its Eviden business line has signed a new contract worth $19.4 million with the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC) in order to expand the capacity of its ‘Santos Dumont’ supercomputer, installed in Petrópolis, Brazil.
Based on its BullSequana XH3000 architecture, this extension will allow Eviden to multiply its computing capacity by four, thus confirming the supercomputer’s position as the most powerful in Latin America dedicated to university research.
This modernization will help LNCC not only meet the growing demand for computing from the academic community, but also support its cutting-edge research initiatives, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
