(Boursier.com) — Nice contract for Atos in India. Eviden, which brings together ESN’s Digital, Cloud, Big Data and Security activities, has been awarded a $100 million strategic contract with NCMRWF, on behalf of India’s Ministry of Earth Sciences. Under this contract, Eviden will supply two new supercomputers dedicated to weather modeling and climate research for the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) and National Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (NCMRWF).
These systems, based on Eviden’s BullSequana XH2000, will benefit from a combined performance of up to 21.3 petaflops and will be based on Eviden’s patented hot water cooling technology, Direct Liquid Cooling. As part of the contract, the data centers at both sites will also be upgraded.
