Atos would like to isolate its IT services activities

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The digital services company Atos wants to isolate its historical IT services activities in a “separate legal entity”, BFM Business reported on Monday, citing a source.

The CEO of Atos, Rodolphe Belmer, should unveil this reorganization on Tuesday during the presentation to investors of his strategic plan to turn the group around and allow it to return to sustainable growth.

Still attached to Atos, the new company would have a separate governance and balance sheet, in order to manage it independently, explained BFM Business. The group would also bring “some activities” from its other branches, digital IT transformation and cybersecurity, to “avoid making this new branch a ‘bad bank'”, reports BFM Business.

The sharp decline in historical IT services activities weighed heavily on Atos’ results last year.

Contacted by the Agefi-Dow Jones agency, an Atos spokesperson declined to comment.

Following the publication of this information and on the eve of the announcement of a day dedicated to investors, the Atos share lost 6.8% on Monday morning, to 19.68 euros, while the SBF 120 index lost 1 .5%.
